    Description

Vega Fairbanks banjo. 5 string openback. I do not know who the neck was made by but is of excellent workmanship.  The bridge is by Steve Huber so I thought that he may have made the neck as well. Comes with a nice Golden Gate hardshell case much like an old Geib case. This banjo is from a local Estate. I was told that the banjo was purchased with the new neck and case at Sylvan Music in Santa Cruz CA many years ago.
I was contacted by a watcher with these questions.
    1. Would you consider the action set high or low?                       Not high or low but just right.
    2. Any fret buzz                                                                            No, not an issue
    3. Is the neck straight, and any issues where it attaches to the banjo? No workmanship is exeltent with proper fitment.
    4. Would you consider this ready to play, or what is needed to make it so?  No very much ready to play.
    5. Any cracks in the wooden parts?                                              No none at all.
    6. Are any metal pieces bent?                                                      No, not an issue.
    7. Does it stay in tune?                                                                 Yes, a very solid playing instrument. Tuning problems are so offen the cause of a poorly cut nut or bridge, or hardware and parts that do not fit well and that shift and give when under tension.
Much time and work was put into this banjo; It is a well sorted instrument.
