    This VERY RARE c. Late 19th Century-Early 20th Century Antique Star Head Solid Bird's Eye Tortoise Purfling Mandolin Banjo Banjolin is ready to add to your collection! The banjo is being sold AS IS. It needs new strings, a clean and tune up. Construction is a stunning solid bird's eye maple back sides anbd tortoise purfling. NO CASE INCLUDED! For its age it is in good shape overall. We did our best to highlight condition elements in the photos. The body displays scratches, scuffs and smudges from use. What you see pictured here is what you will be receiving. There is a large chip in the tortoise purfling and two of the inner bracing pieces are loose, one missing (see photos).
