Manuka Honey
– Raw Manuka Honey from New Zealand is world-renowned - collected as a raw, natural honey that bees have harvested from the native Manuka tree flower (Leptospermum scoparium). Mānuka is a native plant to New Zealand and the name Mānuka is a Māori word.
UMF (Unique Manuka Factor Honey Association)
– New Zealand Honey Co. is a member of the UMFHA, an independent organization. The association holds all members accountable to the highest standards and the grading levels they set. The association conducts random testing of its members honey to ensure these standards are maintained.
UMF Grading
– UMF is how we grade our Manuka honey, the MGO level is listed to show the tested levels of methylglyoxal in the honey. UMF 10+ will have an MGO level of at least 263 MGO

– The Manuka tree only flowers between 2-6 weeks on average which makes Manuka honey a rare and precious resource having only a limited harvesting time frame. Often, remote locations are needed for the best conditions. Typically the higher the UMF grading and MGO levels, the rarer it becomes.
Taste
– Manuka honey is a complex honey that has undertones of caramel and a moderately bitter taste which increases with the UMF and MGO levels. This honey has a very smooth, pleasant texture; thick, almost chewy and fudge-like inconsistency, especially when chilled. The honey can range from being a dark cream in color to a dark brown.
Independently tested
– all our Manuka honey is independently tested and meets, at a minimum, the requirements set by both the New Zealand Government - Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) and the UMF Association. Testing results are available.
